About Us

My photo
We are a family of 5 that moved from California to Arizona about 8 years ago. We love it here! We love to watch movies, enjoy the great outdoors when it's not blazing hot, play sports, hike, ride bikes and spend time together! Life is awesome and we wish the same to all of you!

Peach Pickin'

It is peach picking season again. We took our annual trip to Schnepf Farm to enjoy a lazy afternoon of good company, peach picking and eating delicious peaches too! Aunt Sasha was visiting from California so we got to share the time with her too. We picked a small box full and have been experimenting with various peach recipes. Yummy!

Damara tried to get the peach in her mouth, but instead decided to nurse on it instead

Conlan was the champion of peach picking, he picked some really good ones

A Flare For Drama...Not So Much!

With the last soccer game down, we ran to get Conlan to the school play. Thank goodness the soccer field and school are very close to one another! Con and cousin Tristan were chorus members and cousin Sienna was one of the Narrators for Aladdin. It turned out very cute and all of the kids hard work paid off! They even got through the performance without the fire alarm going off. (Apparantly the smoke machine kept setting off the alarm and school had a visit from the fire department, oops). When Conlan was asked if he would do it again he said no. He thought you could be in the play without having to do that many practices and he didn't want to have to sit still for so long. He will probably just stick with sports from here on out!

Last Soccer Game

In the flurry of our busy May, Conlan also had his last soccer game. With a pre-game celebration at Dunkin Donuts with the team, the kids were revving to play on their sweet sugar highs. And we are not kidding when we say that, the fireballs creamed the competition. Something to remember for next season! It is with sad hearts that we had to say goodbye to the team. They were just starting to find their groove together. We will miss everyone next season! :(

And then it was with a rush that we ran to get to Con's Aladdin performance....

Bugs, Bugs, Everywhere

Conlan had his end of the year show for music class. It was pretty cute, they had all of the kids come dressed as bugs. Con went as an army ant. Our favorite part of the show was watching Con stand there not singing, but instead deciding to get into a shoving match with his friend to get their little love interest's attention. It didn't work, she was very focused and decided to ignore them. Bryan and Jenna however saw the whole thing. It had us laughing in the audience. Gotta love young love....does it really start this early?

Con is at the far left (where the kid who stepped in front of the camera's forehead is). This is taken before the shoving began, when the boys were still semi-paying attention!

Club Soccer Here We Come...

Our little Con-Man has developed a love and obsession for soccer. He has played a little under a year and he spends most of his time in the backyard practicing/ playing. Thank goodness for nice neighbors (it is not uncommon for Con to send several balls over the fence each day). We decided to take him to one of the local club team's "free" soccer clinic (a.k.a. evaluation). As we were walking out, one of the coaches approached us and told us that we should bring him back for the team tryouts/assessments. We were VERY hesitant at first, but decided to go for it. So after the 3 of 4 days Conlan was offered a roster spot on the team. After much thinking and deliberation as a family, Con accepted. We are thankful that all of the games and tournaments will be here in Arizona and even within the Phoenix area. We are super proud of our little man and know that he will get some good training and have some fun out there too! Just not sure Mommy is ready for the 1 1/2 hour roundtrip/ 2 times per week track to get him out there! :)

Congrats buddy!

Damara's First Rice Cereal

We are a bit behind in posting. Here is Demi getting her first taste at rice cereal. She has mixed emotions about it. Personally we wouldn't really enjoy the stuff either, but it is a good starter! She will be starting her first veggies this next week. Demi is ready, we can see it in her face. Whenever we eat she looks longingly at the food and starts to chew. We will post those pictures soon. In the meantime here is a video of our happy girl getting her first taste of rice cereal!

Even Plastic Babies Need to Eat

We were at Conlan's soccer practice the other day and Damara had to eat. I took her to the car to feed her. Aislinn soon followed with her baby in tow too. I got all situated and had Damara snuggled in when I looked over and saw that Aisy was also feeding her baby. It was so precious and so hilarious at the same time! I tried not to laugh out loud (didn't want to embarass her), I snapped this picture instead. Yes, she will probably hate me later for posting it, but it is too cute not to share...
