McCoy Family Update 2013

Another year has passed us by and we are grateful to be finishing happy and healthy! We hope you have all had a fantastic year as well! Here is what we have been up to:

Bryan

This year Bryan has been focusing on taking his Real Estate business to the next level. In addition to working with his residential clients, he has been focusing on developing a commercial client base as well. Working with several clients in commercial leasing and sales, he continues to focus on his client’s needs and providing the best service he can. In addition, Bryan has begun working with a builder and developer on a residential townhome project. It is in the very beginning stages but Bryan is happy to finally get his feet wet in the development arena. When he is not running all around town doing real estate, he is hanging out with the family (who is running all around town for Conlan’s soccer games). He does understand that they will not stay this young forever and tries to spend as much time with them as he can. Bryan had another good year in Youth and Government this year. His program area, Constitutional Convention, was another success and the kids seemed to have a lot of fun as well. This was his 21st year volunteering for the program, over half his life. Where does the time go?

Jenna

Still rocking the world of Domestic Goddess and Student! Currently she is in the midst of finals for her fall semester and on track to finish her BA in Interior Architecture and Design at the Academy of Art University in 2 ½ years. At the moment that seems like an eternity, but we all know it will fly by in the blink of an eye. Jenna helps out in Conlan’s class once a week at the school and takes care of little munchkins on the home front. The summer brought a part time job with a local custom home builder where she is able to use her CAD skills and assist the Interior Designer. She is happy to put her knowledge to work in a real world situation. Needless to say there is little rest for this Mommy!

Conlan

This year Conlan turned 9 and has become quite the fashion trend-setting little man. Conlan is in his third year of club soccer. His team has been rocking and rolling at the tournaments taking 1st place in the last two! He is still playing left midfield and has been coming into his own as a player. He is in 4th grade now and has made honor roll the past 2 quarters. He also was awarded “Exceptional Student” in his class for September. Our little man is growing up and we are so proud of him!

Aislinn

She will be turning 5 in January and starting Kindergarten next year. Tear, sniff…where does the time go? Aislinn has been working very hard in learning her letters and numbers, reading beginning reader books and working on her writing skills. She loves to play with her sister and cousins (Kyla and Emmalina).  Aislinn will also be starting dance classes in January. She loves to dance around the house with mommy and her sister and be silly! She has found a creative streak too. Lately she has been drawing and painting and enjoying her creative projects. She is developing into such a sweet, helpful little lady!

Damara

Yes, the terrifying threes have hit the McCoy household in the last few weeks. Our sweet little Damara is now 3 and packed full of fire! Where did that angel go? She is full of giggles and sunshine most days. Damara may be younger than Aislinn, but that doesn’t stop her from keeping up with her big sister. She loves to paint and draw too! She has recently discovered the art of paper cutting (the proof is all over the family room floor most days). Demi girl is also taking an interest in dance, and we are sure that she will be following in her big sisters ballet shoes very soon. No more babies, this charming little one is now a big girl!

Love and hugs from our family to yours. May you enjoy this holiday season!

Love,
The McCoy Family

Making Stone Soup

We read "Stone Soup" last night before bed. It must have made a big impression on Aisy because this morning when she got up, she said "Mommy we should make stone soup today!" And that is exactly what we did. We gathered a bunch of veggies and the story and headed to grandma's house. We hear she has some of the most delicious stones around. The kids picked out a special stone for the soup. The soup turned out Deee-lish-ous!

McCoy Family Update 2012

As we wrap up 2012, we have had a chance to reflect on the numerous blessings that enrich our lives everyday! We are grateful for the wisdom and support from family and friends that helps us get through each day and another year of experiences and memories to ponder. We have been busy little bees this year! Here is what we have been up to:

Bryan

Never a dull moment for this guy! He is still working with Century 21 Platinum as a Realtor. His main focus up to this point has been residential. The last few months he has taken several classes and been working with mentors to expand the services he offers to his clients to include commercial real estate. He officially has his first commercial listing that he is marketing (keeping our fingers and toes crossed that all goes well with that). He will offer both residential and commercial expertise to his clients and is looking forward to seeing what this next year will hold. Bryan joined an adult soccer team, and although they have taken a short break (the team as a whole had too many injuries), there is talk that they will be starting up again in January. In his free time he stays busy with guitar get-togethers with a friend and has filled our home with music. We also acquired a piano this year and he has been tinkering with that as well!

Jenna

This momma has to stay on her toes to keep up with this crew! Jenna is excited to share that she has recently earned her AA degree (just waiting for the paperwork to go through) and will be continuing on for her BA in Interior Architecture and Design at the Academy of Art University. She has to keep reminding herself that the long road will be worth it! She is looking into getting her LEED certification as Green Associate come summertime and will start pursuing internships in another year. Jenna is a room parent for Conlan’s class and is able to help out once a week at the school. She is also revving up to do the Color Run with Bryan & Conlan in January and a half-marathon in the next year. Her Etsy business with fellow partner, Mom Roxanne, is up and running and the two are enjoying the creative aspect and working together. The website is: http://www.etsy.com/shop/hartfeltexpressions for anyone that is interested in checking it out! Jenna also wears other hats for the family that includes: Chauffeur, Housekeeper, Chef, Baker, Daycare Provider, Tutor, Personal Assistant, Dr. Mom & Boo-Boo Kisser, Cheerleader and Motivator.

Conlan

8 years old and going on adult. Quite the responsible young man and super helpful (when he wants to be). Conlan is in his second year in club soccer and still loving it! His coach plays him at left midfield and he seems to do very well in that position. His team just finished their first part of the season and came in first for the division. They will be moving up a division for the last half of the year. He is in 3rd grade and doing excellent in all subjects. His teacher just nominated him to receive an award as “Exceptional Student” in his class. Needless to say dad and mom are very proud of him!

Aislinn

Almost 4 and still our little fairy girl. Sweet as can be and full of fire! We would expect nothing less from our fairy. She has really turned out to be mommy’s little helper and informer. She helps clean, make dinner and gives Bryan and Jenna the play-by-play of the other 2 kids. Aislinn adores all things princess and has self-proclaimed the title for herself. Her imagination and pretend play are fun to see in action! She is almost there with the potty training, and that is a good thing because school and dance lessons are on the horizon. She has also been doing really well with learning her letters, numbers, colors and shapes and she has also begun practicing writing. She is such a big girl now!

Damara

Is 2 and up to the antics that go along with the age. Don’t be deceived by that angel face, she has mischief behind those eyes! We are grateful that we only put out the non-breakable ornaments this year. The tree has only been up for a few days and has already been re-decorated several times! Damara has graduated from her crib and moved to a big girl bed (won’t stay in it though), has been potty training (doing better than Aisy in that department) and is also mommy’s little helper (taking all of the dirty dishes out of the dishwasher and re-organizing books on the bookshelf). Her new pastime is Picasso Poop Painting (we won’t go into details, but if you use your imagination we are sure you have the picture in mind)! Damara finally has the majority of her teeth, has begun speaking in short sentences and is our sweet little snuggle bug!

We hope that all of you had a fantastic 2012 and have an even better 2013! Love and hugs from our family to yours. May you enjoy this holiday season!

Love,
The McCoy Family

Halloween Festivities

We started our Halloween off the night before with a cupcake party. We decorated chocolate cupcakes with a marshmallow buttercream frosting. Trust us when we say, delicious. We decorated them and ate em' up. Yummy to the tummy! Halloween started bright and early, mainly because the kids were so excited to put on their costumes. Jenna went to help in Conlan's class for their party. After school we gutted our pumpkins, carved them, got dressed up and went to Grandma's house for our festivities. Below are some pictures from the day.

Just a sample of the cupcake before I devour the rest!

Deeelicious cupcakes!

Conlan did not want to partake in our festivities, so we consider ourselves
lucky that he graced us with his presence!

Aislinn daintily getting the pumpkin guts off her fingers.

Damara decided to try the pumpkin.

Aislinn in Cinderella

Boo boo kitty Demi in Sleeping Beauty

Here is a game that Jenna made for Conlan's class. We decided to
use the games from the class party to try and occupy little ones who had
to wait for the trick-or-treating to begin.

Playing Halloween Bingo with pumpkin shaped candy corns

Damara did more eating than playing

Kyla and Conlan

Caydon, sorry buddy we know you don't like the camera

Auntie Bree and Aislinn making a witches broom craft

Grandma as the old lady who swallowed a fly

Olive and Popeye

Roxy Hart and Velma Kelly

Caydon as a hybrid Captain America/Ninja

Billy Flynn and Velma Kelly, together at last!

Sienna as cat woman/girl

We thought it appropriate that Sleeping Beauty fell asleep
during trick-or-treating!

Of course, Cinderella kept losing her shoe throughout the night!

Bryan saved the day. Conlan decided he wanted nothing to do with
pumpkin carving, so Bry carved us a Jack Skellington. The Nightmare Before Xmas
is the girl's favorite movie right now!
