Look who went out with the laundry! So, cousin Emmalina has decided that she wants to sleep in the laundry basket every night. When her mom, Audra, tells her it is time for bed she goes around collecting all of her blankies (she has 4 or 5 on any given day) and puts them into the basket. She then proceeds to climb in, snuggle up and fall asleep. It is hilarious! Mind you she has a bed. The other night we were all hanging out over at their house and Damara fell asleep. Emmy decided she wanted to share her "bed" with the baby. This is a very generous thing to offer when you are almost two and very possessive of you di-di's (a.k.a. blankies). Who could resist such a sweet gesture? Damara slept through the whole picture taking ordeal and just lied there blissfully peaceful and all snuggly warm! Who knew that a laundry basket could provide such comfort!

First Day of School

And just like that, the first day of school came and went. Our big boy Conlan started 2nd grade. He went right in without a glance back. Yes, Mommy was sad! According to the Con man it was a great day and he has 3 cute girls in his class. Does it really start this early? We are very excited to have the school so close to our house. No more commutes to school, yay!

Back to School Celebration

Our back to school celebration this year took on a Medieval theme. Sienna, Tristan and Conlan were all starting school again and this year cousin Caydon will be starting kindergarten this year. Everyone came dressed up and we had some fun games and activities for the kids. We started off the celebration with everyone pulling a sword from the stone and getting their "new" name. Some of the names were: Sir Laughs a Lot, Princess Drool, Lady Ga Ga of Dyva. Then we rescued the damsel in distress from the fire breathing dragon. The kids launched marshmallows with a catapult. Then we had everyone visit the falconry and make origami birds. Then we went on a search for the holy grail and everyone got a goblet to decorate with jewels. Feasting and merriment commenced over lunch and we completed the day with a dragon cake. Whew...what a day!
